Snow Dyeing with Rit

Yep. I did it again. Had to do another batch of dyeing with Rit and snow before it all of our snow melted for the season. Of course by doing that I guaranteed another snowstorm would hit. We are predicted to get maybe 10 to 15 inches for northern WI.

The colors and fractal variations are much deeper than the last time I did snow dyeing. I think the picture is not showing the depth of color very well because of all the bright lights I have in my studio. This batch is very nice and worthy of a project. Maybe a garment is called for. I'll have to stare at it for a while and think about this.

  1. Gorgeous! Simply gorgeous. I used a piece of one of my snow dyes for Anna's class. The pattern was perfect for a cheek and chin on the face.

  2. I am jealous! Why didn't I see this past winter's hassle as a blessing?! Do you have a tutorial?

  4. @fabricsnquilts....Check on my previous 2 posts on snow dyeing. I list instructions for snow dyeing. It is lots of fun and super easy. I'm leaning towards a vest with these fabrics.

  5. Beautiful. I would love to try dying fabric but here in So AL we never have snow so I'll have to come up with something else.
